Good News 4 Brothers November – December 2017

An exhibition of new work from the four ‘brothers in arts” , Joel Aruaye, Akhile Ehiforia, Seye Morakinyo and Godwin Adesoye.

Each of them celebrating their creative journey, with work that testifies to the greatness of the cultural oasis that is Nigerian Contemporary Arts practice.

 

Godwin Adesoye.

Godwin Adesoye was born in Lagos on the 26th of February 1974. Originally from Osun State, Godwin started his education at the Tokunbo Alli Primary School (1981 – 1988).  He attended Oregun High School, Oregun – Lagos from 1989 to 1994.  He later on gained admission into the Institution of Textile Technology and Arts (1997 – 1999) and thereafter, graduated with a diploma.

His solo exhibitions are the 2003 “Discovery Art” Exhibition at the Colour of Tomorrow Studio Ikeja Lagos, “This Spirit of Art” French Cultural Centre Ikoyi (2004) and “Age” Nimbus Art Gallery Ikoyi Lagos (2004). Godwin lives and works in Lagos and Ogun States.

 

Seye Morakinyo

Born 20th January 1979 in Igbo-ora, Ibarapa Central Local Government area in Oyo state, Nigeria, Seyi Morakinyo studied arts at the Auchi Art School. He lives in Lagos His passion for art led him to study Painting & General Art at the reknowned Federal Polytechnic Auchi in Edo state where I studied Painting and General. Since graduation in 2005, he has worked full time as a studio artist. He is a member of the Society Of Nigerian Artist, and to his credit he has participated in several shows locally and abroad.

 

 

 

Akhile Ehiforia

My art is influenced by the ever changing landscape of the developing topography of my Nigerian urban/cultural environment and scene. Evolving from the style and textures of the impressionists movement, I have been able to create and achieve my own trend and style of painting, using such medium as acrylic or oil paints on canvas. My works are collected widely at home and in international communities.
