14.May.16 – 28.May.16
This spring in Manchester, Nigerian sculptor and painter Okey Ibeabuchi and portraitist Joel Utuedor, show their works in a collaborative exhibition. After the short break following our first show, we continue to keep our fingers on the pulse of what is coming out from Africa with this two man show. The works feature the different influences and cultures of the artists reflecting the complex heritage of the region of provenance in Nigeria. The idealogy accompanying these exhibits are diverse in scale and in content, with a capacity to dazzle and a prospect for culminating into blockbuster. They reflect Chuck Gallery’s pioneering emphasis on accessibility and at the same time, contribute towards eliminating bottlenecks in finding a market for the artists’ works. This uncompromising approach demonstrates significant potential for investment which can only continue to grow stronger and stronger as the word gets out.
